sara + austin . the wedding
sara + austin were married at the santa barbara historical museum (a location I've been dying to shoot at for years now; it was worth the wait-- incredible!)
The wedding was so tastefully done, each element was so well planned and seemed to fit them and their relationship to a tee. it was evident that they carefully chose each aspect of their day to ensure it suited their dream. the day was full of meaningful flavourings:
-butterfly pins were attached to sara's bouquet thatkop0- once belonged to her grandmother
-needle point ring pillow was handmade by sara's mom in the 70's reading "you're a prince" which is actually sara's new last name--perfect to hold the rings!!
-the family has grown up with mariachi music so hiring mariachis to kick off the celebration was important!
-as a surprise, sara even commissioned austin's favorite artist to create a custom piece incorporating their names and wedding date to be presented to him at the cake cutting. It was so emotional; austin was in tears, it was so moving.
the food was to die for and the favors were SO yummy, the best and most unique tasting chocolate I've ever had (it was lavender infused!!!)
the wedding just had a really calming & beautiful charm to it.
It was also so fun to see all of her bridesmaids again, i felt like an old friend :) I photographed Leyla's wedding two years ago so it was awesome to reunite with this close knit group!
